Prepare 3.4.0 release

To aid getting a new release of this library out (#332) I've updated CHANGELOG.md with what I hope are appropriate nodes; I've left the release date as "UNPUBLISHED" assuming that will be added when/if this merge happens. I've also bumped the version number.

opps. we probably want to put a release date on the chnagelog...
so it is worth putting up a follow up PR with that and I can cut a release tomorrow, so the date should be Feb-14th.
