… 6-8)

This commit adds the Week 1 Tier 1 notebook for the "Quantum for Everyone" curriculum, targeting students in Grades 6-8.

Notebook Overview:
- Framework Tool: IBM Quantum Composer (visual, drag-and-drop interface)
- Focus: Guided worksheet experience for students to interact with qubits, superposition, and measurement
- Concept Objectives:
  1. Qubit & Superposition – Introduce using a relatable analogy (spinning coin)
  2. Measurement – Demonstrate probabilistic outcomes
  3. Noise – Introduce the concept of glitches affecting quantum circuits
- Sections:
  1. Notebook Metadata & Setup (Title, Prerequisites, Analogy/Introduction)
  2. Lab 1: Classical Bit Operations
  3. Lab 2: Creating Superposition States & Measurement
  4. Lab 3: Noise Introduction & Activity
  5. Summary & Reflection (Key takeaways and final reflection question)

Students will perform simple operations in Composer, record observations in markdown cells, and reflect on the differences between classical bits and qubits.

This structured notebook ensures active learning while keeping content accessible for younger learners, aligning with the Tier 1 pedagogical goals.
…g (Grades 6–8)

This commit adds the Master Teacher's Guide for Tier 1 of the "Quantum for Everyone" curriculum, designed for Grades 6–8 (Middle School).

Guide Overview:
- Unit Title: Quantum Literacy and Applied Modeling
- Duration: 4 weeks (approx. 45–60 min sessions per week)
- Framework Tool: IBM Quantum Composer (visual, no-code interface)
- Pedagogical Approach: Cross-curricular, metaphor-driven, modular, and accessible

Key Components:
1. Curriculum Overview
   - Target Audience: Grades 6–8
   - Alignment: Math (CCSS-M), Science (NGSS), Computational (CSTA)
   - Learning Progression: Conceptual pre-loading → Applied modeling → Computational logic
2. Tier 1 Curriculum Sequence
   - Week 1: Foundational Literacy (Worksheets; Comprehension focus)
   - Week 2: Applied Lab 1 – Quantum Compass Flip (Composer Lab)
   - Week 3: Applied Lab 2 – Turning the Arrow (Composer Lab)
   - Week 4: Final Logic Project – Quantum Locksmith (Multi-Qubit logic)
3. Foundational Literacy Units
   - Unit A: The Enchanting Chandelier of Qubit (Superposition, Measurement, Normalization)
   - Unit B: The Ghost in the Machine (Wave-particle duality, Spin, Superposition)
4. Computational Logic (Weeks 2–4)
   - Focus on X/H gates, visual probability, and basic entanglement (CNOT / Tandem Link)
5. Tier 1 to Tier 2 Conceptual Bridge
   - Prepares students for Bloch Sphere, vector rotation, and Phase concepts in higher grades
6. Resources for Implementation
   - IBM Quantum Composer, Tier 1 worksheets, Qiskit classroom, exemplary lesson plans

This guide provides teachers with a structured, narrative-driven framework to teach core quantum concepts effectively, ensuring accessibility and active engagement for middle school students.

Next Phase:
- Develop Tier 2 curriculum for Grades 9–11, including formal Bloch Sphere instruction and multi-qubit logic extension.

QMAP Issue #18: Quantum For All – Tier 1 (Week 1)
**These are workbooks designed for K9 to K12 educators focused on applied quantum computing in the classroom.** They offer a practical perspective by using a compass in a magnetic field as a didactic tool to introduce key concepts such as qubits, quantum states, and rotations on the Bloch sphere.
The materials follow the UDL+5E methodology, integrating small Python–Qiskit code examples to facilitate hands-on use in IT lab environments with students.
Finally, each workbook includes a brief reflection section along with a field journal to help evaluate and document the classroom experience.
