FST can be installed on a single Linux server. We suggest virtual machines with at least 512 MB RAM and 20 GB disk. Recommended operating systems are Ubuntu 16.0.4 LST or CentOS 7.2.
This guide describes how to install FST on a public server. You will get a working installation of FST with a small demo database. The goal is to be able to experiment and evaluate.
Note that production use is beyond the scope of this guide. For that, some additional configuration is needed and server security should be increased.
- Part A - Setup secure server login
- Part B - Install server prerequisites
- Part C - Install latest version of FST
- Part D - Install demo database and run tests
- Part E - Configure webserver and webproxy
- Part F - Secure your installation
- Part G - Optional steps after installation
If you just want to experiment with FST on your local workstation or laptop, we have another guide for that: Install on development machine.
