Amazon Linux tests were removed in #104. Then #105 (comment) says that there is no supported EPEL for Amazon Linux anymore.

AL2 supports EPEL, just not AL2023. |

Maybe what @ekohl was referring to, also in #171 from https://docs.aws.amazon.com/linux/al2023/ug/epel.html, is that EPEL 7 is unmaintained. |
