Welcome to the Wiki of our GLOW 2024 project. Our concept revolves around diffused acrylic glass tubes which are interactable via touch! When visitors of the GLOW festival touch these pillars they will light up and start playing music, together creating a symphony of life!

This concept requires some technicalities. Below these are listed and explained how they currently work!

  1. Light: Within the acrylic glass tubes production spotlights are placed. These spotlights are programmable via Digital Multiplex. Read this guide for more on this topic.
  2. Touch: Touch is at the base of this concept as it is the physical trigger in our interaction. To detect touch time of flight sensors are used. Read this guide for more on this topic.
  3. Sound: Sound is an extra that gives our concept another layer. This is done by sending volume up/down commands over the arduino. For the festival itself a bigger sound source should be used and placed in the tube(s).

In total these are the aspects of our concept. Light is currently the only part that is completely solved and help is welcome for touch and better sound control.
