Update translations #10
Comments
Same thing with the 1.4.0 release |
@MultiSeptim and @celerini do you want to help with the Czech ones after finishing ALA? |
ok so it looks like that's PR #41 |
|
A question from #54 that I never got answered: now that I can actually see all of the pofile headers for all the translations, including the email addresses, I'm wondering if it would make sense to send out a mass email to all of the addresses listed to let them know that there's new translation to be done? And/or the translators listed in the credits? |
It may be worth trying along with official i18n mailing list and Translations & Internationalization forum. |
I made a thread in the forum, but barely anyone has bothered replying there yet: https://forums.wesnoth.org/viewtopic.php?t=54568 |
OK I emailed all the addresses from the pofiles and a number of them bounced; the following addresses should be removed:

@antonino-arcudi might be able to help |
Hi, |
The .pot file is here: https://github.com/nemaara/A_New_Order/blob/master/translations/wesnoth-A_New_Order.pot |
...although, we've already run |
OK, i got it. Need some time to revise. Where can i send the revised .po file to? |
You can either submit it as a pull request on GitHub, or email it to me, or send it as an attachment to me in a Discord DM, or... well, there are a lot of ways. What would work best for you? |
I think an e-mail to you is the best way at this moment. |
OK you can just use the address from which I sent out the call for translators, then |
Please check PR #91 when you get a chance |
so yeah if any translators have a moment, I'd like your feedback on (and/or help with) putting translation marks on message captions, as I just realized in issue #7 |
@Toranks might be helping update the Spanish translation |

Another major-ish content update: - Updated changelog - Additional translation comments, to help with issues #10 and #111 - Updated debug menu for conversing with characters - Additional dialogue with Kyobaine for her event about her winter clothes - Clarify that Lorin is from the Gallorae Clan as early as the first scenario (something @Toranks pointed out) - Additional copyediting, as per issue #5 - Rebalancing of S19c, "The Oracle" - Multiple changes to S21b, "Haunted Place", including a new secret to find; closes #42 - Ensure named mages have their genders specified - Fancier treatment of discoverable peasants in S25, "The Awakening"
I wonder...
(apologies to the tagged if I already asked this via email, but I forgot the answers, and plus it would be better to have people's involvement status written down here publicly anyways) |
What surprise. I thought, the project was abandoned. :) |
Cool, thanks! By the way, do you know where the other Russian translator (listed as "nikita") went? Or any of the other translators, for that matter... |
No, I never contacted him. |
@ForestDragon-wesnoth noted a few typos in the Russian translation in his most recent playthrough, but they might already be fixed with #176 being merged now; I'm not sure... |
Old typos are fixed, new typos are added. :) I continue work with translation. |
Translators may wish to opine on #206 |

Just FYI, the "translations" part for the
...just in case any translators would like to submit custom titles and/or descriptions for any of their translations. |
An example would be good. Is this OK? [translation] language="tr" title="Yeni Bir Düzen" description="Vesnot'un eski krallığında dolaşan haydutlar, paralı askerler gibi unsurları Gevin Hagarten ortak bir düşmana karşı birleştiebilir mi?" [/translation] |
I guess the English one would look something like this:
(figuring out #212 would probably help here) |
The Turkish translation is suitable for your example.
|
Indeed, there are quite a lot of items to translate, so I'm working on them little by little, hoping to have them ready at some point, though I can't say exactly when. I finished another task yesterday, so I might get around to this one when I have some more time. |
It's ok to do just part of it! In fact, breaking down the translation into a bunch of smaller PRs would probably be easier for me to review than having one big one, and that goes for any other translators thinking of updating theirs, too. Just do what you can when you can; every little bit helps. |
Branch for miscellaneous 1.18-based changes Closes #206. Includes Turkish translation update from @nilgun for issue #10. Co-authored-by: Nilgün Belma Bugüner <>
#230 made me notice some typos in the source strings that I'll have to fix... |
Update Japanese translation See issue #10 Co-Authored-By: k-konami <>
The copyediting I did as part of the 1.3.0 release changed a lot of strings, which probably broke a lot of translations. I updated the potfile as part of that release, so translators should be able to use
msgmerge
to update their pofiles and then work from there. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
