OER Menu User Guide

Please make sure you have the latest WP-OER branch installed.


All Resources

We can create new resources using the OER plugin. To do this, we need to first install WP-OER in the Plugins page. Once installed, we can start creating resources.

Click OER on the sidebar menu. Then click on All Resources.

All Resources page display the created resources including Published and Drafts. You can add a new resource, update an existing resource, delete a resource in this page.


Add Resource

Add Resource allows you to create a new resource.

Add Title

The page title can be added here. The title will also serve as the URL slug and becomes the last part of the URL.

Add Block

This section allows you to add a block to the resource page. You can search for the specific types of block in the search bar. OER Resource and Curriculum blocks can also be added.

OER Blocks

  • OER Resource Block - This block displays a single resource on a page.
  • OER Subjects Index Block - This is the block version of the OER Subjects Index Shortcode.
  • OER Subject Resources Block - Displays the list of resources according to subject areas.

Curriculum Blocks

  • Curriculum List Block - Adds a list of curriculum based on subject.
  • Featured Curriculum Slider Block - Adds OER curriculum and resources in a slider.

Tags

Tags are used to group pages or posts that have similar details. You can include tags in your resource to provide an easy way to sort the contents into topics. It also makes it easier for visitors to find the topics related to a specific resource by clicking on its tag where they will be taken to the Tag Archive page where all posts with that tag are listed.

You can add and update a tag in the Tag menu under OER.


Subject Areas

The Subject Areas allow you to create or update a subject area. You can add your own slug for a URL-friendly version of your name, Parent Subject Area, and Subject Area Main Icon, of the Subject Area.


Import

Import allows you to import data sets to the OER plugin. You can to import Resources, Subject Areas, and Academic Standards.

Import Resources

For bulk upload of resources. The format must match the spreadsheet template. If screenshot processing is enabled, a maximum of 50 records per transaction is suggested.

Import Subject Areas

Easily setup resource subject areas.

Import Academic Standards

Resources can be easily tagged to standards to provide additional alignment information to viewers.
