The modpack introduces many crops and food items that can be made or found in a few different ways - and some can have surprising effects. Let's see some.

Placed Meals

Some of the most varied meals can also be placed to serve either as decoration or for sustenance.

Placed meals offer a higher hunger and saturation value. The respective effects are also obtained when eating from placed meals.

Most meals can be eaten up to 4 times when placed.

Table Set

Please come to the table! The plate or bowl is not just for decoration; you can also place all kinds of food items on it and eat from them. You'll then receive an additional bonus to hunger and saturation.

You can add a napkin, glass, or wine glass to the plate or bowl. This is only for decoration and has no effect.

Chocolate Box

A box full of luck! ... or chocolate. You can eat from it up to 6 times after placing it. Share it with your friends or eat it all by yourself.

Baking

Vanilla Max introduces new depth to making food in the game by adding this very interesting and rewarding system.

Stove

Used to make pastries and bread, can also be used as a heat source for a Cooking Pot and Tea Kettle.

It works similarly to the already known crafting stations in Minecraft: It has 3 input slots for ingredients (top left), one input slot for a fuel source (bottom left), and one output slot (middle right). It also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 12 seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot. Crafting all items requires a valid item in the fuel slot - this can be either coal, charcoal, or other items that can be used to power a typical Furnace.

Note: the items located in both the output and input slots are also displayed within the block in the game world.

Small Cooking Pot

Used to make Chocolate from Cocoa Beans and Jam from fruits.

It has 6 input slots for ingredients (top left), one container slot (middle), one output slot (middle right), and an indicator of whether it is on a hot (lit) surface. Like the Stove, it also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 30 seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot. To make the small cooking pot usable, it must be on a hot surface. You can recognize this both audiovisually in the game through rising bubbles and cooking sounds, as well as visually in the GUI of the cooking pot: The fire changes from grayscale to colorful.

Caking Station

Used to prepare cakes, cupcakes and cookies.

It has no interface but functions solely through direct interaction. Certain items each lead to a different result.

The starting product to begin the manufacturing process is always a Cake Dough. Make sure your off-hand is free, and you hold the Cake Dough in your main hand - then click on the Caking Station to place raw cake batter.

Now you have the following options:

  • Use Jam to make a cake.
  • Use a knife to cut the raw cake batter and then process it into cupcakes with Jam.
  • Use a knife first and then a Rolling Pin to cut and roll the raw cake batter and then process it into cookies with Jam.

Upon completion, you can dismantle and pick up the respective end product.

Crafting Bowl

Used to make all kinds of dough, cereals and salads.

Like the Caking Station, the Crafting Bowl also has no interface and functions through direct interaction. The Crafting Bowl has a capacity of up to a maximum of 4 items.

Once you have placed the correct ingredients inside, you can stir the whisk in the bowl to start the dough-making process. This is visually represented with an animation.

Note: You need an empty hand to start the manufacturing process.

Dough

There are three different Doughs to craft: Dough, Sweet Dough and Cake Dough.

All of them have a different purpose:

  • Cake Dough is mostly for being used at the Caking Station - you can craft Cakes, Cookies and Cupcakes out of it. It's made out of Wheat, Sugar, Milk and Eggs.
  • Sweet Dough is mostly being used for... yea, sweets. It's made out of Wheat, Sugar, Water and Eggs.
  • Dough is your to go Dough for Bread. It's made out of Wheat, Yeast, Water and Sugar.

Cakes

Can be placed in the world and provide a way to decorate your builds. With a gentle right-click, you can pick up the cake again.

You can Shift-right-click to eat from a cake up to 4 times, or cut it into up to 4 pieces with a knife and eat on the go.

Effects

Stuffed

Prevents you from getting hungry for some time. By reducing food exhaustion, it helps you to stay healthy and active during adventures, even in tough situations. It's a useful Effect for maintaining energy levels and enjoying the game without constantly worrying about hunger.

Sugar Rush

Boosts your attributes, such as movement speed, attack speed, and attack damage, making you more effective in navigating and fighting. It's particularly handy during adventures or combat situations, giving you an edge in overcoming challenges, and stackable up to 10 times.

Winemaking

A new system that enables you to make Wine, a drink that can have similar effects to some pretty powerful potions. Differently than potions, though, you can also place bottles of wine in your world as a sophisticated piece of decoration.

Grapevine Pot

Required to process grapes into grape juice.

Fill the pot with the respective grapes until it is completely full, jump in and hop/move around in it until the grapes have turned into grape juice. Then, you can extract the freshly pressed grape juice with wine bottles.

You can't mix different Grape Variants.

Fermentation Barrel

The Fermentation Barrel is your primary crafting station for making Wine.

It works similarly to the already known crafting stations in Minecraft: It has 4 input slots for ingredients (left), one input slot for a wine bottle (middle), and one output slot (right). It also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 900 seconds or 18000 game ticks for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot.

Apple Press

The Apple Press is a crafting station for making Apple Mash.

Like the Fermentation Barrel, the Apple Press also resembles the usual crafting stations in Minecraft. The Apple Press only has 1 input slot for apples (top left) and one output slot (right).

Once you've placed the apples into the input slot, it takes a few seconds for the crafting process to complete - the Apple Mash then appears in the output slot.

Brewing

Tea and Coffee

Drying Blocks

To obtain dried green, black, or oolong tea, you must process various ingredients into a block and dry it in the light. The drying process takes about one minute.

Example: For dried green tea, you need 9 tea leaves. Combine these into a block, wait for the drying time, destroy the block, and receive dried green tea. You can then use this to make a green tea block to process it further into black tea or use it directly for a wide selection of tea.

Tea Kettle

Used to make Coffee and Tea. It has 6 input slots for ingredients (top left), one output slot (middle right), and an indicator of whether it is on a hot (lit) surface.

You can recognize this both audiovisually in the game through rising smoke and cooking sounds, as well as visually in the GUI of the cooking pot: The fire changes from grayscale to colorful.

Brewing Cauldron

Your primary crafting station for making Flasks and Potions. The Brewing Cauldron has 4 input slots for ingredients (top left), one container slot (middle), and one output slot (middle right). Like the Stove, it also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 45 seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot.

Beer and Whiskey

Brewing Station

Required for brewing Beer and Whiskey. Unlike ordinary blocks, the brewing station is larger: It consists of 5 separate blocks and therefore requires a space of 2x2x2 for placement.

The brewing station has no GUI and only operates through direct interaction. It is composed of the following blocks:

  • Kettle
  • Oven
  • Timer
  • Whistle

The Kettle is the centerpiece: That's where all ingredients are placed. The Oven serves as a fire source and needs coal. The other parts are responsible for the minigame.

After the correct ingredients have been placed, the kettle is filled with water, and the oven is lit, the minigame begins. It lasts about 45 seconds and during this time various events can occur that require a direct action from you (or your teammates). The brewing process is represented audiovisually.

Occurring events:

  • Kettle needs water: The Whistle whistles, the water level of the Kettle is low - refill the Kettle with water
  • Kettle overboils: The water level of the Kettle is high, bubbling bubbles rise - remove water with an empty Water Bucket
  • The Timer ticks: Red particles and a ticking sound are emitted - press the button on the Timer
  • The Oven has too little heat: Smoke particles rise, the flame of the Oven is low - add more coal

There are different tiers for the brewing station: Wood, Copper, and Netherite. To brew whiskey, you need Copper or Netherite.

Note: The faster you complete the mini-game, the better the beer quality will be. Be cautious when using Wood or Copper Brewing Station, as sometimes it can result in undesirable outcomes!

Beer Mug

Not only serves as a mug for beer but can also be repurposed as a flower pot. Nice!

Cooking

Cooking Pot

It resembles the crafting stations in Minecraft and its main purpose is to be able to make basic Meals.

The Cooking Pot has 6 input slots for ingredients (top left), one container slot (middle), one output slot (middle right), and an indicator of whether it is on a hot (lit) surface.

To make the Cooking Pot usable, it must be on a hot surface - this can either be a Stove, Magma Block or other hot surfaces. Occasionally, you can also place the cooking pot directly on a campfire. You can recognize this both audiovisually in the game through rising bubbles and cooking sounds, as well as visually in the GUI of the cooking pot: The fire changes from grayscale to colorful.

Cooking Pan

Similar to the Cooking Pot the Cooking Pan is one of your primary crafting stations for making Food.

The block works identical to the Cooking Pot: It has 6 input slots for ingredients (left), one input slot for a container (middle), and one output slot (right). It also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 30 seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot.

Roaster

Works similar to the Cooking Pot. Mainly for bigger Meals.

The Roaster has 6 input slots for ingredients (top left), one container slot (middle), one output slot (middle right), and an indicator of whether it is on a hot (lit) surface. Like the Stove, it also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 60 seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot. To make the Roaster usable, it must be on a hot surface - this can either be a Stove, Magma Block or other hot surfaces. You can also place the Roaster underneath a block above a campfire. Okay - this sentence is really weird - but I think you understand what is meant. You can recognize this both audiovisually in the game through rising smoke and cooking sounds, as well as visually in the GUI of the cooking pot: The fire changes from grayscale to colorful.

Mincer

An all-purpose tool for further processing various items.

The block has no direct interface and operates through direct interaction. Valid items can be placed into the Mincer by right-clicking. You can then operate the crank by targeting the Mincer and holding the right mouse button. The process is visually and audibly indicated by the crank's animation, particles, and a sound. Once the item is fully processed, it comes out of the Mincer's bottom opening.

The processing time varies depending on the material: while meat takes about a second, iron and wood require more time. You can reduce the processing time by holding another item you are processing in your hand while cranking.

Silo

The silo is modular and can be expanded in both width and height. The larger the silo, the higher the capacity and the shorter the drying time. Right-click with the item to be dried to place it in the silo. Right-click to open the silo hatch (when closed). Right-click to close the silo hatch (when open).

The content also dries with the hatch open. When the hatch is closed, the content will not be emptied automatically.

Cheese

Cheese Press

It's your primary crafting station for making cheese.

The block has two input slots: One will usually be used for Rennet, the other one for Milk.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes around a minute for the pressing process to complete - the crafted Cheese Wheel then appears in the output slot.

Depending on which type of milk you use, the produced Cheese is different. There are 7 types of cheese. It also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Note: The cheese wheel located in the output slot is also displayed within the block in the game world.

Cooking Cauldron

The Cooking Cauldron is your primary crafting station for crafting Rennet, delicious meals and other cooked recipes.

The Cooking Cauldron works similarly to the already known crafting stations in Minecraft: It has 6 input slots for ingredients (top left), one output slot (middle right), and an indicator of whether it is on a hot (lit) surface. Like the Cheese Press, it also offers a built-in recipe book that displays all available recipes and the ingredients required for them.

Once you've placed the ingredients needed for the respective recipe into the corresponding input slots, it takes about 30 seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot. To make the Cooking Cauldron usable, it must either be on a hot surface or hanging on a frame. You can recognize this both audiovisually in the game through rising bubbles and cooking sounds, as well as visually in the GUI of the cooking pot: The fire changes from grayscale to colorful.

Fondue

Ah - Fondue. Currently, a quite famous dish from Switzerland. It's primarly there for crafting Cheese Sticks out of Cheese and Bread.

The Fondue works similarly to the already known crafting stations in Minecraft: It has 2 input slot: one for bread, one for cheese (middle left) and one output slot (middle right).

Once you've placed the bread and cheese in the input slots, it takes a few seconds for the crafting process to complete - the crafted item then appears in the output slot.

Animal Foods

Dog Food, Cat Food and Horse Fodder have high chances of taming the corresponding animal. Cats won't run away from you while you are holding Cat Food.

Completionist Banners

There are special Completionist Banners that are gained when you craft all kinds of foods from a specific type. You can place them in the world to show off!

Scarecrow

Acts as the Completionist Banner for the content of Farm&Charm. Boosts crop growth in a small radius by 10%.
