CABLE committee meeting agenda, 30th July 2015, 2.00pm

  1. CABLE-JULES coupling

a) Progress with coupling into UM8.5 for ACCESS-CM2. (explicit/implicit discussions)

  • Ran for 2 years without crashing. Longer run being set up with more diagnostic output. Email exchange on explicit vs implicit coupling for CABLE in the UM ongoing.*

    b) CABLE in JULES4.2/UM10.1

  • Progress at Met Office end likely to slow given resignation of Matt P.*

    c) Offline CABLE via JULES : potential impact of hard transition to snow

  • CABLE via CABLE and CABLE via JULES now give virtually identical output *

  1. CABLE license

a) Wiki update with new registration form (CableRegistration) - updated instructions for NCI New process at NCI for accepting people into CABLE group. Appears to be working.

b) Update CAWCR webpage

  • Changes passed to Liz A for appropriate person to incorporate *

  1. CABLE science video conference - set date for next one? *Check with Mark D re plans for next COE land group meeting on Aug 26th and whether we combine for a CABLE video conference. Depending on response, Rachel to advertise for speakers and/or discussion topics in next CABLE news. We will also aim to have a CABLE dinner during the CAWCR workshop. We will not run a CABLE workshop in November/December as in previous years. *

a) Progress on Beginners guide to CABLE development, BeginnersGuide

  • Rachel to publicise in CABLE news. Invite people to contribute to any of the listed topics. Link as appropriate from the CableHelp trac page. Jhan to help with checking contributions. Thanks to Jatin for getting this started. *

a) CABLE technical test suite – other test users?, document on wiki?

  • Progressing. Hope to be back online in 2-4 weeks. Front end via Nectar.*
