CABLE committee meeting, 11th May, 12-2pm

1. Committee restructure

• Background information

a) Roles as per CABLE Roadmap

b) Ideas for committee restructure with working groups, and committee comments pre and post wider feedback

c) Proposed coordinator role split into Science and Technical

• Work flow for trunk updates

RL spoke to the background information and explained WorkFlow proposal. Discussion of the work flow and how this impacts on the committee operation is summarised here. Agreed to collate any further feedback and to refine the proposal over the next week with the likely outcome of reducing the proposed 5 working groups to 3. Feedback from YPW received. Additional/expanded comments from GA received.

• Future committee roles and responsibilities

Still to be finalised. One option is just to try and see how it works and evolve as needed.

• Filling committee and working group positions

Still to be finalised. General support for VH and JS sharing coordinators role. AP keen for MdK to join committee.

2. Review action items

• Documentation of namelist file (VH/JS)
• Assess need for update of user guide on wiki, including what is covered in BeginnersGuide and FAQs in CableHelp
• Progress MD trunk contribution including #86 GSWP3 to current trunk (VH/JS)
• Set-up of 1000 points C-cycle test for general use (VH)
• Follow-up of CASA-CNP merge (JS/RL)
• Follow-up on Jenkins work (JS/GA)
• Instructions for adding a vegetation type to be documented on wiki (JK/JS)
• Organise open committee meeting (RL) Done
