1. Jhan & Danny to update us on JaC progress

The version of CABLE in both HAC5.7 and the proposed trunk@NCI are identical.

In HAC5.7 the differences between using this code and that from a few moths ago are non-existent.

In the proposed trunk@NCI the differences between using this code and the current trunk are minor.

However, there appear to be greater differences in soil evaporation, especially at sites where there're may be snow.

Ian suggested updates to %cls variable which might cause such a difference and potentially not treated equivalently in the trunk and the revised structure version. (Jhan will look at this)

Suggested more comprehensive plotting available through PALS. (Gab and Jhan to implement this)

2. Gab & Martin to update us on Benchmarking progress

Gab and Danny to port ILAMB capability to enable global benchmarking.

UKMO to get onboard with the benchmarking project.

**4. CABLE-CASA-CNP **

YingPing satisfied that he HAD a "working" version, however it seems to have mysteriously stopped working.

5. Was there a date for the annual science meeting?

Suggestion is to have a virtual hack-a-thon in place of an annual science meeting. For next meeting members should prepare a draft agenda of what the hackathon should cover.

CABLE committee meeting minutes - July 21st

These minutes are notes taken during the meeting. Please feel free to edit them further. In bold are actionable items.

Progress:

  • Not a great deal of progress due to Jhan being on leave, working on the Restructured CABLE. Jhan and Danny to co-ordinate a shared development plan. (Jhan and Danny)

  • Specifically with regard to benchmarking - Gab, Martin and Jhan, are to i nvestigate further. Specifically Jhan will attempt to use Benchmarking tools devised by Martin and Gab. (Jhan)

NO progress:

  • Ying-Ping wants to implement offline run of CABLE with ACCESS configuration. Clarification of soil texture parameters required. (Jhan) [investigate - old Ticket mentioned by Rachel]

  • what branches work with what?

    Contact active developer groups - e.g. Juergen - trendy? (Jhan)
